Scoliosis Research Society (SRS)
An International Organization Dedicated to the Education, Research and Treatment of Spinal Deformity
Our Mission is to Foster Optimal Care for All Patients with Spinal Deformities
This scholarship is for individuals from a developing nation to attend either IMAST or the SRS Annual Meeting & Course. Recipients will be reimbursed up to $2,500 for travel and lodging. The meeting registration fee will be waived.
The Fellowship is open to candidates under 45 years old from developing countries. The recipient must be a qualified Orthopaedic or Neurosurgeon involved in spinal surgery. Candidates DO NOT have to be SRS members. Candidates who have attended a previous IMAST or SRS Annual Meeting are NOT eligible for this scholarship.
Since 2004, the committee has awarded 75 scholarships to surgeons from developing nations to learn new concepts and techniques to apply to their practice back home. Without this scholarship these surgeons would not have been able to attend the meeting and further their educations.
If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact the SRS office by phone (414) 289-9107 or by email.
The Scoliosis Research Society provides information on these web pages regarding research and links as a public service. The SRS believes that patients should contact their treating physician about the relevance of any information listed on the site prior to proceeding with any particular treatment. Just as no two individuals are exactly alike, no two patients with a spinal deformity are the same. Therefore, your spinal deformity surgeon will be the most important source of information about the management of your particular spinal problem.
