Scoliosis Research Society (SRS)
An International Organization Dedicated to the Education, Research and Treatment of Spinal Deformity
Our Mission is to Foster Optimal Care for All Patients with Spinal Deformities
The Scoliosis Research Society Global Outreach Program (SRS GOP) provides care to pediatric and adult patients in underserved regions of the world with any disorder that affects the shape, alignment, and function of the spine. We foster the development of regional, self-sufficient spine centers staffed by local physicians capable of providing continuing care to patients with spinal deformities.
Our mission will be facilitated through the development of SRS GOP Centers. The educational programs provided through these centers will employ practical, didactic and "hands-on" techniques to train local spinal surgeons and medical colleagues to provide non-operative and operative care for patients with spinal pathology.
The Scoliosis Research Society provides information on these web pages regarding research and links as a public service. The SRS believes that patients should contact their treating physician about the relevance of any information listed on the site prior to proceeding with any particular treatment. Just as no two individuals are exactly alike, no two patients with a spinal deformity are the same. Therefore, your spinal deformity surgeon will be the most important source of information about the management of your particular spinal problem.
