Scoliosis Research Society

Dedicated to the optimal care of patients with spinal deformity

Welcome to SRS

The Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) is an international society that was founded in 1966 with 35 members. It has gained recognition as one of the world's premier spine societies. The SRS has maintained a commitment to research and education in the field of spinal deformities. Strict membership criteria ensure that the individual Fellows support that commitment. Current membership includes more than 1,000 of the world's leading spine surgeons, researchers, physician assistants and orthotists who are involved in research and treatment of spinal deformities.

President's Message

Welcome to the SRS website!

Many people have come up to me and said that this is a historic year for SRS. Historic, because I am the first president of this Society who lives and works outside the United States. While this is true and does represent a certain milestone for the Society, I would prefer members to think of me, not because of this, but rather as another member who is passionate about this Society and what it stands for; passionate about being a global citizen; and passionate about making the lives of our patients better.

Indeed, in a recent survey of spine deformity leaders around the world, SRS is perceived as a recognized leader in spine deformity; a brand name with a reputation for high-quality research and education; however, it was also noted that there is much to do, to make this a truly global society. We acknowledge these comments and are beginning to refine our different efforts.
